Frequently Asked questions
Are you writing all of these by hand?
Yes! All items are written individually by hand. However for larger runs (100+) invitations, I will write the calligraphy by hand, scan to a computer to print at scale. Envelopes will always be handwritten.
How I get started?
Send me your request via the contact page. I'll send you a free quote and arrange a time to talk through the details of your project.
After our discussion, I'll finalize the estimate and send you a suggested timeline.
Advance booking by 3 months is recommended to ensure availability. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the time on my calendar.
The balance of the project will be invoiced upon completion.

Since I was a child, I have been passionate about typography and stationary before I even knew what it was. I can remember the worksheets I would complete, book after book, learning the letters and how to write them properly. My hand lettering practice developed into adulthood and would soon become a small business, The Painted Oak Shop.
Providing calligraphy services through The Painted Oak Shop is a way for me to continue to practice my love for elegant lettering. I am able to provide customers with words and phrases that inspire them while also expressing my art through my own signature fonts. I look forward to working with you!
